Striving towards quality and perfection

  1. Extensive consultations with all relevant stakeholders of Higher Education.
  2. Compilation & Revision of HEC’s feedback proforma for students and teachers.
  3. Prepared Guideline and SOPs for QEC staff and Team Members in BS & Non-BS Colleges. Proper SOP circulated to all Universities & Colleges along with task assigned to them and coordination in this regard.
  4. QEC Focal Persons appointed in all colleges to work with QAC, HED.
  5. Training/orientation provided through various Training events to all 300+ QEC Focal Persons of all colleges of KP.
  6. Quality Assurance procedures officially implemented in BS colleges from September 2019 and in all Non-BS Colleges from Fall 2022.
  7. After concluding all training sessions for QEC focal persons and obtaining their views about needs and difficulties in implementing quality procedures in colleges presented the same at a joint meeting chaired by the Director Higher Education and representatives of PMU and DG Commerce education. Secretary HED has also been briefed about such pending issues with the request for their early resolution through advance planning and allocation of appropriate resources.
  8. Conducted review visits to various colleges/JMCs and universities of KP.
  9. In spite of Covid-19 pandemic, Quality Assurance activities were conducted in all colleges.
  10. With the establishment of QECs in colleges and nomination of focal persons a new network of QA personnel in colleges has been created and the same are now linked with their university counterparts for easy communication and problem solving. Director QA keeps a 24/7 contact with the network and information and queries are shared in real time.
  11. Several reports have been submitted to Secretary HED on issue-to-issue basis but not regularly every quarter because of acute shortage of junior staff. A Concept Paper for Reforms in Governance of Higher Education sector has been submitted to Secretary HED and SACM to CM for further advice. Technical/intellectual support provided to HED in terms of National Education Policy 2021, compilation of Prime Ministers’ Directives for Administrative, Financial and Performance issues faced by various universities of KP.
  12. QAC has provided intellectual and technical support to HED in its various initiatives like launch of Associate Degree in non-BS colleges, Revamping Undergraduate Education Policy, preparation and finalization of Draft Bill for establishment of KP Council of Higher Education, draft bill for Re-establishment & Reorganization of Centers of Excellence, Degree Awarding Status to selected colleges, and shifting of FA/FSc classes to colleges under E&SED.
  13. Working as a liaison office for coordination with HEC Islamabad for World Bank funded project (HEDP) for support to Colleges & Universities of KP.
  14. Collaborated between HEC & HED to organize the first-ever series of capacity building training workshops for 2200 colleges faculty by NAHE on pedagogical skills, assessments, semester rules in 2021.
  15. Facilitated HEC/HEDP project staff in making arrangements for interactive sessions between the Team-HEDP, administration and senior faculty of affiliating universities and their respective affiliated colleges on the implementation HEC Undergraduate Education Policy in 2022.
  16. Participated in several meetings as representative of Secretary HED at various forums like Commission meeting of HEC, IPEMC, statutory bodies meeting of universities and various committees of HED for higher education and good governance.
